What really matters? We could say love God and love our fellow man, but what does that look like in practical outworking? Is it praying, fasting, working in our church, reading the bible? These are good but what does God say? Micah 6:8 might blow our theories out the door;
No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
Some versions say: to act justly, love faithfulness, or mercy.
We can be caught up in the rah rah but neglect the deeper things. We can even attempt to manipulate God with thinking if I pray, sing and shout He will turn up. He is looking for lovers not levers.
How are our neighbours impacted? How are the poor benefited? How is justice done? Are we behaving like Jesus on the earth? Are we reaching out? Are we loving the lost?
This is not about you, it is about God's heart. What does He care about?
