Eternal Glory

“In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.” 1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If you can imagine the glory of the God who created the universe and everything in it, imagine being invited to share this with Him! Why would such a being want to share His glory with anyone else?

If we receive glory for winning a sports game, a deal in business, a high university honour, we tend to like the glory all for ourselves. Why would a being who is obviously so great and done so many things not want to boast? Why would He not want all the glory for Himself? Well, perhaps He is totally selfless, loving and kind?? I know we can’t imagine that, because we are surrounded by people just like us, selfish.

Note there is an element of suffering involved, no couch sitting to receive glory. Anyone who has determined to train to win at the Olympics will speak of what they suffered to get there. Same here! We will be rejected, misunderstood, defamed, ridiculed, persecuted and ignored. It is not for the weak hearted or lazy, it is for the brave.
