“For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.””
Galatians 5:14 NLT
How much thinking is taken up with us thinking about ourselves? 90-100%? A lot! Mostly! We are inspired to consider others occasionally. However, we see others through the lense of how they impact us. Usually we consider others unjust when wronged and beneficial when righted.
As I mowed the lawn this afternnon I thought about what others would say about me at my funeral. Going by what people generally do, they would wax eloquently about some good thing and rarely about the wrong. Suddenly at death we have a lot of well speakers and no critics. We are just not that good! I am not and neither are you.
So… how do we love others like we love ourselves? Think about them more as we would think about ourselves, a good start. If we spoil ourselves, how about spoiling others? Why there is an original thought! Try it!!
