Power

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We all want and seek power: power to be, power to do, power to impress, power to conquer. There is only one true and clean source of power, God’s Holy Spirit.

We also have an enemy who is constantly opposing such power. He lies and accuses without ceasing. He wants us to believe we are powerless and that his power: corrupt, unclean, and brutal power is all there is. He is a lair and has been since the beginning.

Jesus told His disciples to ask and it would be given. In the verse above He is telling them about an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. They did not know about the Holy Spirit, it was new to them. They soon found out, however, that He is indeed a powerful ally. He is our ally as well. May we befriend Him and reach out to Him. Amen!
