Equipping

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

If we read the word and read it with a searching heart it will instruct us. However, if we read it perfunctorily, it will not touch your mind. It is the same for worship and praise, if done as the repetitious Pharisee it is empty of power to change you.

Yet, to the hungry heart it is full of life and peace. God’s word is living and active: “For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the ideas and thoughts of the heart.”Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬ ‭

Jesus sought godly righteousness, He hungered for the truth and revelation of God in scriptures, therefore He studied it earnestly. Paul, in the above scripture, instructs Timothy to have a heart earnest and strong towards God’s word.

Have an earnest heart! Amen!
