How has Jesus loved me? With tough tenderness. He has very firm boundaries and refuses to spoil me, yet, He constantly surprises me with His goodness and grace, forgiveness and love.
On Sunday the preacher talked about the discipline he received at the hands of his father and he talked about Mr Spoon. My son and daughter knew of my wooden spoon also. They were told of my love before a spanking, but I also addressed their bad behaviour. After the spanking they were held close and knew my love.
My God holds me close and refuses to give me my lusts and wants. He constantly tells me, “you have all you need”. He prepares a table for me in the presence of my enemies. I do have all I need. Amen!
