The light

The beautiful thing about light is a match struck and glowing produces enough light to see in the darkness. A candle is better as a match is short lived. Both produce light that cuts through the darkness.

Tonight I went to a bonfire night. As darkness descended the air became chilled. Yet, when the bonfire was lit it produced a period of extreme heat, so much so that we had to retreat. As the fire reduced in intensity and became a welcoming log fire, we gathered to enjoy and watch the burning coals.

The sky was lit with the Milky Way and the stars were spectacular. It reminded me of my home town. Our skies were just the same. On the way home my friend, who was driving said, “it is very dark tonight!” I replied, “there is no moon that’s why!” The moon makes a difference. We make a difference.
