“The one who walks with the wise will become wise, but a companion of fools will suffer harm.”
Proverbs 13:20 HCSB
What is the voice that dominates in your head? Is it one that challenges you to live worthy of your calling? Or is it one that says, “she’ll be right mate!” (An Aussies flavour there). The last does not encourage you to rise up and run the race with diligence, it is a beer swilling saying that encourages you to stay lax and let circumstances run their own race.
Who do you go to for advice? Do you ask for advice? Asking for advice is wisedom. Seeking knowledge is wisdom. Seeking God’s counsel is wisdom.
In the Book of Judges it says ‘every man did what was right in his own eyes’(judges 22:25).
They ended up in a mess. They worships other gods. They no longer had Joshua or Caleb to confront them and the elders died.
Even with the Spirit of God, New Testament churches went astray. They accepted strange new doctrines. We see in the Book of Acts Paul addressing some of these and they are affirmed in the epistles. Error is the enemies tool. He seeks to destroy. So how can we escape him? Staying accountable and close to godly teaching and fellowship. Amen!
