“For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.”Psalms 30:5 NLT
David writes with understanding.. he is Jessie’s son and now is himself a father. He understands discipline. He likens his relationship to the Lord as a son to his Father.
In verses 6,7 he says:
“When I was prosperous, I said, “Nothing can stop me now!” Your favor, O Lord, made me as secure as a mountain. Then you turned away from me, and I was shattered.”Psalms 30:6-7 NLT
This is so true. We become arrogant when prosperous but God turning away from us shatters our false image. Arrogance prepares us for destruction. Fortunately, our God waits for us to repent.
Humility does indeed attract the Lord’s favour. Amen!
