“Then Hannah prayed: “My heart rejoices in the Lord! The Lord has made me strong. Now I have an answer for my enemies; I rejoice because you rescued me. No one is holy like the Lord! There is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.”1 Samuel 2:1-2 NLT
If we read verse 2 by itself we could assume some great man said the words, yet they were spoken by a woman, Hannah, who God gave a son after years of barrenness. She gave the son back to the Lord and he grew up to be the mighty man Samuel. However, he was left under the care of Eli who was not a good priest before the Lord. What faith Hannah had in the Lord!
I am grateful for Hannah amd her faith. She encourages me in my walk of faith. If you read the full prayer of Hannah you grow to respect her.
I have need of finding God as I begin this venture in Nepal. I am able to be quiet and wait on the Lord as I am recovering from a cold and nasty cough. I read, pray, listen to preaching messages and sleep. I cannot affor to listen to godless chatter. Godless chatter is faithless chatter for the sake that of talking.
There is always plenty of godless chatter. I will not go there! Amen!
