“I have asked one thing from the Lord; it is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, gazing on the beauty of the Lord and seeking Him in His temple.”Psalms 27:4 HCSB
David longed to gaze on the beauty of the Lord, however, for seven or more years David was chased by King Saul, and for 1 1/2 years he lived in Philistine territory. Jews believed that inside the borders of their land was where God dwelt. Therefore, David’s hunger for God’s presence, and His temple would be very real to him.
As Christians we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, God dwells within us. We can never lose Him, we may walk away from Him however He is always there. For us longing is for more of the Holy Spirit’s manifest presence in our lives. More of Him and less of me. This is why we fast and dedicate ourselves to more intense time of prayer and seeking Him.
I know Bethel Church is in a time of fasting and prayer right now, my church does this in February after schools go back and life returns to normal from holiday mode. I know I want to see a move of God in Nepal and it must start with me. I want to see the power of God manifest through me to the lost.
It is good to step aside and seek the Lord! Amen!
