Caring for members

“This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭25‬-‭27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In every gathering there can be just one person (or more) who are difficult. They may talk too much, attempting to control the flow of discussion, they can be stroppy and difficult to communicate with, they can be hostile or withdrawn. All of us need Jesus to impact on our lives. Jesus is the healer, the redeemer and judge, not us.

Navigating difficult people without love is near impossible. We tend to avoid them or not include them.

What did Jesus do? I can think of a few examples: he went out of His way to reach the demoniac in the tombs; he went out of His way to Samaria to meet the adulterous woman at the well; He went and found Bartemeus. How many of us did He go out of His way for?

We are His recalcitrant sheep, getting caught up in the thicket, being chased by the wolves, finding ourselves lost and alone. Yet, He comes! What a saviour!
