Delight in showing unfailing love

“Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love.”Micah‬ ‭7‬:‭18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Today in our time of prayer and fasting we focused on forgiveness of others. As we learn to know the absolute love of our God, we are filled with His love and forgiveness. His love cannot hold the sins, His nature is not to hold sins. We are therefore compelled to forgive as He forgives, we cannot hold people in bondage by our attitude and unwillingness to forgive.

The above verse reminds us that our God delights in showing unfailing love. I have an old friend who I have persevered with through many years. She had been consumed with selfishness and refusal to seek the Lord. Before I left for Nepal I gave her a Daily Light study to read and she did. As she read she changed. I returned to meet a peaceful, humble woman who was so grateful for all I had done. She no longer ‘needs’ me like she did before. Praise God!

I recently gave here another book ‘Love has a Face’ by Michele Perry. She is reading this book and is smitten with the selflessness of Michele. My perseverance over seven years paid off. I now know she is in the Lord’s hands and I will see her in eternity. I am overjoyed.

When we persevere just as the Lord has done for us we see amazing results! Amen!
