Take up you shield

“In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I cannot imagine a soldier who fought with spears, swords and javelins not having a shield of sorts. Frodo Baggins had a mail undershirt. For him it was a shield. Modern day soldiers wear bulletproof vests.

The problem we Christians have is realising we are in a war and being appropriately girded. We can deny this actuality all we like and be brutalised as a result. While not being devil focussed we can be God focused to the point of walking in the righteousness He provides. This righteousness does not depend on us, however, in faith we use it. No matter what accusations thrown at us we can stand in the righteousness Jesus gave us. Amen!
