Each generation

“For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.” Psalms‬ ‭100‬:‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬ The Lord has been faithful to me, I saw His faithfulness to my parents and know my great grandmother was a praying believer. I know the Lord’s hand is upon my grandchildren, and I am grateful. This psalm was attributed to king David. The Lord’s promise what to him and his line,  Jesus came from David’s line.  “Your house and your kingdom will continue before me for all time, and your throne will be secure forever.” 2 Samuel‬ ‭7‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬. Both Mary and Joseph were from the house of Judah, David’s tribe. As a believer I place my hope in the Lord for my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Like my grandmother I pray for my family and trust the Lord for them to seek His face. No matter what the world dishes up the Kingdom of God remains stable and will fulfill all prophesy.

Cheerful giving

“You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬ The challenge when there appears little in the basket to give is to withhold. However, withholding has to do with fear. Fear comes from mistrust, and mistrust comes from not knowing the One who holds all things together. However, faith says, “let’s step out and spread the bread on many waters and see what returns!” Let’s see what God will do on my behalf! My quest is to determine what is bread and what is seed. Seed is for sowing and bread is for eating. If a farmer eats all their seed there is none for sowing and conversely if they sow all their seed there is none for eating. However, getting it right steps into the world of miracles. I am always looking for miracles, they are the fun part, they are filled with God’s presence. The same comes when I decide to travel the hard way, alone and in a long pro...

Trust

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Yersday I awoke at 3:45am and prayed about the day, read my Bible and sang worship songs as usual. I was to walk to the domestic airport and then train it to Sydney’s Central Station and then train it to Tamworth. I had read online that the train to Tamworth left at 7:30am. I left the motel at 5am. Sydney had changed and so I used my Google Maps. Found the train and discovered I didn’t need a special pass card, just had to tap my Visa card and off I went. At Central it was cavernous and I prayed for direction. I asked a guard and found the ticket office. I discovered I was hours early. However, outside the ticket office were many homeless people sleeping. I thought, ‘here is an opportunity!’ I sat down among them, got out my ukelele and began to worship. I was aware they might be annoyed with the intrusion...

More love

“I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Jesus said to His disciples: “ a new commandment I give you, you should love one another as I have loved you!”(John 13:34). Elsewhere He said,  “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”  John‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Paul was honouring the Philippians because they had done just this. They showed their love in their giving to the ministry of Paul. Their sacrificial giving blessed Paul. He greatly appreciated it and honoured them for it. A good start to living a pure and blameless life is to support what God is doing, without strings attached. By this I mean giving with an expectation of reward from the recipient. God is our rewarder!  Yesterday I landed in Australia as ...

Training

“Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” 1 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬ I see a lot more muscle-bound young preachers these day. It seems to be a trend as is the growing trend to brandish tattoos. Neither of these speak about what the inside of the man or woman is like, in fact they are glorious covers. They shout: ‘look at me!’ Perhaps this is why the Lord has to shake the tree so the person can see what is really inside. I know we could all attest to having our tree shaken. It gives us a reality check. The Lord is not interested in the outside but rather the inside. Do we love our life or are we willing to surrender it for His will? Does the world rule us or is God our leader and guide? As a child we were taught a cute song about a doll: ‘are my blue eyes bright, do I look alright to be taken home on Christmas day’. Image is everything. Female preachers seem to have the nails just right, the makeup don...

An heir

“So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.” Galatians‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬ I see a lot of movies promoted on FB about a rich heir marrying a stranger so as to inherit a fortune. All the movies carry a similar theme. For the Christian we inherit the kingdom of God. It is a kingdom we have not seen with our natural eyes but with our hearts. We have a Heavenly Father and a brother, Jesus, who made this all possible. To be acceptable we must walk in faith in Jesus for our entry. He said, ‘I am the way!’ The is no other entry point. Nothing I can do will bring this glorious truth and opportunity except humble acceptance that I am not enough for heaven but with Him I am accepted. I am currently living in a land awash with other gods. None of them lay down their lives for their followers, none paid for their sins, none gave them enlightenment like Jesus. He is the light they all seek. I live by faith in Him and not my own works. I se...

Love without edges

““The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭40‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Our God is a God of records. He records all our deads. When we are overcome with guilt for the past He sees us through Christ, not only that He has a record of all the little things that matter to Him. The forgiveness for sin that He gave us is full of love. We cannot comprehend His love in all at once but He pours it out again and again. It is for us to give to others. I have a Danish friend, when she hugs me I am smothered in a soft pillow of love. I do not want to leave. Awake in the night I prayed to be just like that. There is no hard edges in my beautiful friend. The love of Jesus fills her so full, it is wonderful to behold. That people would experience the love of Jesus in me without edges, no judgement! My friend knows how to love the least. She gives and gives and gives like there is no tomorrow, yet somehow maintai...

The stranger

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’” Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭35‬-‭36‬ ‭NIV‬‬ These are things we missionaries have opportunity to do. If we have eyes to see we see the ones who God is wanting to minister to. I live with two Nepali women who I gave a home to, however, I am not the hero, they are. I taught them to use their faith to be able to pay more than 5,000R (a little over $50Au) a month for a home. At first they were fearful but now they are fine. They have showed me what it is like to minister in Nepal. They reach out, go out and give out continually. They love on me and care for me like a mother. Recently their desire for a bicycle caught my attention. I shared their desire with a friend and she happened to have an old bike for them to try. I organised a helmet and secu...

Eternal eyes

“Then the King will turn to those on his right and say, ‘You have a special place in my Father’s heart. Come and experience the full inheritance of the kingdom realm that has been destined for you from before the foundation of the world!” Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭34‬ ‭TPT‬‬ We admire those who finish well. The Lord has a special place for those who finish the race well, a full inheritance of the kingdom. What does that look like? He said, “I must go away and prepare a place for you” (Jn 14:3). Revelation tells us what that place is like.  “It was infused with the glory of God, and its radiance was like that of a very rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. The city was pure gold, clear as crystal, and its wall was made of jasper. The twelve foundations of the wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone—the first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the...

The return

“But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭31‬-‭32‬ ‭NLT‬‬ The whole chapter 25 is filled with Jesus’ teaching about His return and what to expect. In chapter 24 He began by prophesying about the destruction of the temple. In chapter 25 He starts with the parable about the wise and foolish virgins and ends with the parable about the landowner who called three servants, and before going away on a long journey gave each an amount of money to invest. Two were wise and one buried what he had claiming his master to be a difficult man. He judges his master and chooses to disobey. The last section deals with Jesus separating His people into sheep and goats. He arrives with all His angels and in resplendent glory. I think of other times we see a host of angels: the first is...

Nothing can separate us

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭38‬-‭39‬ ‭NLT‬‬ We live in a world where deep and lasting love is rare, and is see by the special few. However, my Bible tells me that God’s love is not fickle, but enduring. When we think on the above verses there are some powerful things mentioned. Yet, this scripture tells me God’s love is for real and greater than all powers fighting against me. People may reject me and walk away, but He is faithful. As someone who has accepted Jesus as Lord, I am confident that the sacrifice Jesus made is enough to cover all my sins and keep me in His love. While we were...

Rejection

“Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture: “ ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;” Mark‬ ‭12‬:‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Whilst ever Jesus was silent and did not walk in His destiny He was accepted, yet, the moment He stepped up to walk in His calling He was rejected by those with the power to kill the body. These same people had been given authority to rule over the biblical truth, however, they failed in recognising God’s gift to them for they did not understand Isaiah 53. The religious leaders were expecting Jesus to be a conquering king not a humble preacher who healed the sick. This misunderstanding caused them to crucify Him. Those of us who face rejection face the same tribunal of people who think they have the angle on truth but do not. The truth they claim comes from their own flesh and the world in which they live. As someone who was a Catholic for 19 years and then left to become born again, all my relatives think I am an apostate. For those who function in worldl...

Enter

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭100‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬ While this psalm is not the shortest psalm, it comes close. Psalm 117 wins that prize coming in a two verses. Psalm 100 has five verses. However, it has a similar style, both are exhorting us to praise the Lord. Hopefully this psalm causes us to think. It begins with ‘shout’ triumphantly, moves on to ‘serve’ gladly, ‘come’ with joy, ‘acknowledge’ God as God, then ‘enter’ His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. It ends with a why do all this: for God is good, and His love is eternal, His faithfulness endures to all generations. When Jesus was asked to teach the disciples to pray He said: ‘Our Father who are in in heaven, holy be Your name, may Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth’. He started with praise and honour, long before we get to us: ‘give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our sins as we forgive the sins of others, l...

Speaking Jesus

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬ As I patiently wait for the language to speak to my neighbours, I pray. I pray daily and consistently for the place I find myself in, I pray for my home country and pray for the various people groups that stand out to me in the world. I post these blogs and use social media to make a stand. I am travelling back to Australia on 26/5 for a month, I am looking forward to sharing my faith there. Meantimes I will pray for people to have dreams and visions of Jesus. I cannot pretend that the role of sharing my faith is not a real one, it is. I am grateful that my son and his children are out there evangelising. Praise God! I am blessed to see this. However, I have a part to play. Amen!

Truth in prophesy

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.” ‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Truth is not found within us, we are a fallen people. Truth has to come from someone that is pure and without sin. Jesus is the only man born without sin, who lived without sin. The above words were spoken by Him. He was speaking about the Holy Spirit who was poured out, on the believers in Jesus, on Pentecost Sunday. From that day timid fishermen became bold speakers about Jesus. Not only does the Holy Spirit speak about Jesus, what He has heard from Jesus, He speaks prophetically about the future. The believer in Jesus carries the Holy Spirit  in their hearts. Under divine inspiration, much like Peter’s first preach in Acts 2, the Holy Spirit fills a person with vision and boldness. In the Book of Acts we see many such divine encounters and hear prophesy being given. The prophesy of the Ho...

Glory

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His hands.” Psalms‬ ‭19‬:‭1‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ If we stop and think about this verse, we come to realise that the skies tell a tale of the glory of a creator. The perfect symmetry, exact distances, the amazing uniqueness of the Earth, the Sun and Moon the smallness of our solar system in the vastness of space shows intelligent design. A chance glorious sunset is enough to cause our hearts to wonder and praise. I come from Tamworth, NSW, Australia where we had the best sunsets. My flat faced the west and every day glory would streak the sky. I would find myself running outside to snap pictures and fill my phone wit sunsets all so diverse and yet so similarly full of glory. I am now in Nepal and such sunsets are rare. Yesterday I was walking at sunset and saw a few rose -pink clouds and was in raptures. How easy I am caught with joy! As an astronomer, I wonder at the constellations, the Milky Way, the distant planets. I appre...

Words

“Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭29‬ ‭NLT‬‬ In this chapter Paul is addressing works of the flesh and giving a good reason for living righteously: “And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.” Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭30‬ ‭NLT‬‬ In the book of Revelation we see something about the church at Ephesus. They were doing many good things but the one the the Lord had against them is they had lost their first love. When we lose our first love we become jaded with others and sink into the flesh. We start to listen to the accuser of the brethren and do and say things that are ungodly. I have watched the opposite happen. I have a friend who frustrated me no end and caused me to react and complain. Now, I love that friend and fully appreciate him. ...

Perseverance

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him. James 1:12 NIV Are you in a trial? If not you will be in some way. We are all tested and face trials. I am there at present. My flatmates and I have determined to praise our way through. I know Bill Johnson says the only thing that works for him is to dance, I could do that as well. Yesterday, when walking through the neighbourhood, on my way to the swimming pool, I saw a crowd of brightly coloured women gathered outside a home on a narrow street. A band was playing and the women were dancing. Last night as my friend and I walked by there they were still dancing. My friend told me that Nepali people love to dance. It was a part of a wedding ceremony in which the bride is brought to the husband’s home. They will be celebrating again today. This speaks to me, dance and sing and rejoice before the Lord for He is good. W...

No anxiety

“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life,  then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ.” Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭76,7 ‭TPT‬‬ Paul writes this from prison in Rome. The Philippians church was his first church in Europe. This chapter is full of faith and hope.  Yesterday I was handed a problem which to me was a giant. I have no answer, but it is ripe for a miracle. I want to see my God’s glory all over this. What the enemy of God wants to use to destroy me, my God can turn into a feather. Paul goes on to say in verse 13: “I know what it means to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I’m trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of Chris...

Destined

“We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬ ‭TPT‬‬ When I think back to my childhood in Bingara Australia, I see a glimpse of what God had for me. I loved linguistics even then, I drew people together even then, I loved adventure, and I loved the Lord, and His word. However, I did not find Him as my personal saviour until I was 19. I had to leave my small town and venture to a large city south of Sydney. It was here I encountered two girls who knew Jesus personally. I did not know all that God had for me, I was insecure and did not have a vision for working in ministry apart from my nursing. At work I often talked about Jesus. It was not until I visited a friend in Japan that missions became a factor in my life. In that time I was functioning as a pastor ...

I will sing

“But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. O my Strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love.” Psalms‬ ‭59‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬ King Saul had sent ment to spy on David, yet David finds time to compose this psalm. May we, in times of distress, find time to worship. Today is Mother’s Day. Being away from all the trappings associated with Mothers Day it does not seem anything more than the Lord’s Day, which is best for me. Mother’s Day sets me up for hopes and possible disappointments, whereas the Lord’s Day never disappoints. Yesterday a friend and I trekked in the local Shiva Puri recreational conservation area. The lack of trash was appreciated. However, I did see an empty water bottle up near the waterfall. The pristine forest was refreshing, the fragrance so beautiful. My God knows how to blend plants...

Set apart

“Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.” Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬ This instance is the only time in the Bible that a unit of time that God blessed. The term holy is applied in the Bible as something set aside for service to God (Holman commentary). In Nepal, Today, Saturday, is rest day. My friend and I will visit a local reserve and do some trekking. Tomorrow is the day I honour God’s rest. Peter writes:  “But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬, he is referring  to Leviticus 19:2. What does it mean to be holy? I am set apart for service to God. In all I do I must serve the Lord. I cannot run with the world and follow its ways. I am His representative, His voice, His child. Today, I am looking forward to visiting His creation. He is beautiful and I am sure it will be also. Amen!

Dirty feet

“So if I’m your teacher and Lord and have just washed your dirty feet, then you should follow the example that I’ve set for you and wash one another’s dirty feet. Now do for each other what I have just done for you.” John‬ ‭13‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭TPT‬‬ Here in Nepal we so easily get dirty feet. I imagine it was similar in the day the Lord spoke these words. The practice of foot washing is seen in Genesis and it can be assumed that it was an ancient courtesy for guests. In Nepal people tend to wash their own feet if needed and always remove their shoes outside or just inside the front door. In Bible days a servant would have this lowly role. Jesus uses this role to illustrate how we must be to each other. The disciples were always squabbling about who was the greatest and Jesus patiently taught them this was not the way. Seeking glory for ourselves is something we do, I do and have done it by choosing great escapades. Yet, the glory belongs to the Lord. I am to serve not boast. I am to honour n...

A New Thing

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Previously God was reminding His people of His deliverance of them from Egypt, but now, He was about to do something new. Today, I claim this and step into the new. After two disappointments with my American friend, the Lord is pulling me back to Himself and saying, ‘not that way, follow Me into the new.’ My friend and I have been prevented from travelling to China and now Mugu, North-West Nepal. I can see a pattern and after watching my friend’s performance in front of the university professor, I know better. My friend acted and spoke as if my project was her idea and whilst this does not bother me too much I also saw her disrespect for the authorities there. It was a warning. The authorities did not receive her well and therefore would not grant her request. I am left to rearrange the rema...

Belonging

“And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day there will be one Lord—his name alone will be worshiped.” Zechariah‬ ‭14‬:‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬ This prophesy came to the nation of Israel who had been in captivity for 70 years in Babylon. They had been opressed, they were weary and worn down. They were returning to a land that had been decimated by their enemies. After the Second World War when the Jews were returning to Israel it was a land that had been empty and without hope for thousands of years. It was a barren land. Yet the people turned it into a garden. This prophesy speaks of the end times when Jesus comes to rule and reign on the earth. If you read the whole chapter you see what His presence does to the land and to the nations of the earth. We all want to belong somewhere. Right now I am planning a trip back to Australia to sort a few things and then return to again study the Nepali language at the university college. Australia, although my homeland, is not home to me, Nepal ...

No discouragement

“So I say to my soul, “Don’t be discouraged. Don’t be disturbed. For I know my God will break through for me.” Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise him all over again. Yes, he is my saving grace!” Psalms‬ ‭42‬:‭11‬ ‭TPT‬‬ This psalm was written by the sons of Korah. The Khorarites were the doorkeepers in the house of God. The write of this psalm, however, was away from the temple. He was struggling with depression and striving to encourage his soul. Many will be here at one time or other. When a blow comes against you, unexpectedly, it can cause you to struggle. However, only God is the answer. Yesterday my research colleague and I again presented ourselves to Tribhuvan University. This time we had a favourable response from the man we needed to see, but he also was of the opinion my colleague had a problem because she had taken a five year visa and not presented to school, even though the course was cancelled. He then turned to me and said, “I don’t believe you can do this resea...

Victory

“But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” 1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Previously John had been writing about those who carried the spirit of anti-Christ. He was encouraging the saints that these people did not have power over them. This past weekend we have seen a Labour government win by a majority in Australia, and yesterday when presenting our research proposal we were treated badly by a government worker who wanted to deter us. I was not hurt or upset as I trust the Lord for the outcome, His will will be done by us as we trust Him. We must return today and receive the verdict, can we pass through? Not matter what God has a plan and that plan will succeed. When bad people come into rulership it is a sign to me to pray for them for a new heart. God is not finished with them yet. When people who do not value the things of God stand in the way, may His gr...

Ransomed

“But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭1‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Israel had been plundered and was in captivity when this word was given. The reason for the captivity was sin. However, God was speaking hope. If we remember, Jacob was a rogue, yet God called Him and used Him to birth the sons that would be the names of the 12 tribes of Israel. The sons were not a godly lot, in fact Joseph stood out by his faith in God to preserve him in captivity in Egypt where his brothers sold him as a slave. When I look back on past failures, especially with people God gave me, I am repentant. However, right now, the people He gave me are faring better, because I understand His ways more. I pray I continue to learn His ways and treat people as He would have me do. I can trust Him to work in me to will and so His pleasure, not mine. Amen!

That is why!

““That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?” Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭25‬ ‭NLT‬‬ What is that?? If we look at the previous verse we see: “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.” Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭24‬ ‭NLT‬‬ How is being concerned about what I have to eat and wear? Apparently these concerns are tied to mammon.  Right now our house is aware of a Christian Nepali family who have been turned out of their home and declared bankrupt. They are anxiously living in the church building and looking for a new place to live. My flatmate Martha went out yesterday to help look for a flat. She found two: one who would not allow church gatherings, and one who would not allow eating of pork and buff. I kid you not, some homeowners are strict Hindu...

Completed

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬ I pray this for my children and grandchildren. That I will see them flourishing in the work of the Lord. I am grateful that this promise is to me also. Our God is not a quitter. He pursues us, and pursuers us and pursues us. His love is merciful and gracious. While ever we have breath He pursues us, to bring us into his embrace. We give up on people, however, He never will. Paul is writing to the Philippians church who have supported him faithfully. He goes on to tell them of his love for them:  “God knows how much I love you and long for you with the tender compassion of Christ Jesus.” Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Faithfulness is highly valued by those out on the front lines. The ones who faithfully pray, follow us and support us are a treasure. There are many observers and critics, selfishly attempt...

All glory

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭NLT‬‬ In my exuberance I oftern boast about what I am doing or am about to do, that God is leading me to do. Each time I am convicted that all glory belongs to the Lord. Yesterday my research colleague and I received approval from the school in Mangri, Mugu, Nepal to conduct research in their school. However, we have another school in a place called Takha, that is yet to respond.  In Bible study last night I asked my friends to pray for approval. Praise God against all odds and difficulties we are making headway. We have waited for this day for five months now. On Sunday we visit the Tribhuvan Uni to request covering for the research. This will enable us to obtain research visas. In the school that has given approval, I will c...
