What is good?

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
‭‭Micah‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Below is the Passion Translation of the same verse:

“No! Listen, O Adam’s offspring, Yahweh has made it plain to you what is best. He has shown you what he really is longing for from you— only to promote justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.”Micah‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The Lord is longing for me to do this. Why is He longing for me to do this? When we pray ‘May Your kingdom come, Your will be done’, we are proclaiming God’s ways and rulership over the earth, and in particular our own lives and the world we live in.

Yesterday, as I left the swimming pool in Sadobato I saw a small jacaranda seedling growing under a pot and thought, “I’ll take that it will only die if left there.” I felt justified. However, the Lord thought otherwise. The plant withered and began to die on the way home. In His eyes I had stolen and this plant was on the pools property. I had not asked if I could have it, I walked out hiding it in case I must respond. That is theft. This is where God is at with me.

So, today, why was God like that? Because He wants His righteousness and honesty to stamp a corrupt land not have me become like it. I will have to learn enough language to ask permission. Today I will ask a friend who does speak Nepali to go back with me and offer payment. The plant is lingering, perhaps it will survive if I go, however, even if it doesn’t I will have made a stamp for righteousness. That is why I am here. Amen!
