Power to Change

1 Samuel 9:21 (GW) Saul replied, “I am a man from the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest tribe of Israel. My family is the most insignificant of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin. So why are you saying such things to me?”
Again, and forever God chooses what is insignificant to use. Saul was a handsome, tall man, but he had no expectations.
All that Samuel told Saul, Saul found mystifying and didn't want. He would have been happy with life as it was.
When Samuel came to anoint Saul as king he hid in the baggage, a most reluctant king.
Gideon was a reluctant deliverer but he had something Saul didn't. There was a spark of life in Gideon that caused him to seek the truth. Even after prophesying with prophets Saul was unimpressed.
Saul did not have faith for what came to him and his life spoke of that lack of faith. Faith would have changed things, seeking God would have changed things. Saul had no vision for leadership.
As Christians we have a hope and a purpose. We are called to seek and save that which is lost. We are told that we have the power of God within us, our calling comes with the backing of all that is in the word of God. Greater is He that is in me than he who is in the world.
We must choose to believe the word of God and what it empowers us to do. To sit in unbelief is sin. As we seek the Lord we discover His anointing power, the power that changes us. Hunger for God changes things!
