Thinking Right

Isaiah 66:9
Shall I bring forth to the moment of birth and not cause to bring forth? says the Lord. Shall I who causes to bring forth shut the womb? says your God.
This is a scripture that the Lord constantly gives me when times get tough and they are tough at present. Tough times are humiliating. I cannot make things better I have to trust. Aaagh!
My God wants to be God, because that's who He is, His nature does not change when I am pressed. I am pressed because He wants to see what will come out, what will I say? will I say 'it is well', or will I spew forth vindictives, whine and complain?
Lord I ask for Your Grace because Your word says 'my grace is sufficient for you'. If Your word says it that settles it. Your grace is sufficient. Amen!
I have those around me who look and listen and rely, what behaviour will I display?
My eldest grandson was asking questions again re 'why did grandad leave? who will you marry now nanny'. Myer understands the concept 'bad choices'. I told him grandad made a bad choice and nanny needs to make a good choice. Even little grandchildren want me to be complete. However, wanting to be 'complete' will not lead me to make any choice.
I have a responsibility to make Godly choices, live by example, show the way. If I do not show the way who will? Somebody, somewhere has to realise we have people, little people, watching wanting to know the way, this isn't about my pleasure or fulfilling a need, I need to get over myself and show the way.
A lot of fights come at Christmas because we have conflicting wants, expectations. Let them go and think higher, look at the bigger picture. If we lose our life (our selfish expectations) then we gain our life but of we hang onto selfish expectations we lose every time.
This life is not about my happiness to the exclusion of all else. If Christ came to give His life then I can suspect my calling is similar. Amen!
