Where We Stand

Peter said to Jesus ‘”Lord it is good for us to be here. If you wish I will put up three shelters –one for You , one for Moses and one for Elijah”.
While he was still speaking , a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said,”This is my Son  whom I love, and with Him I am well pleased, listen to Him.”

When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified, but Jesus came and touched them, “Get up “ He said, “Don’t be afraid.” Matthew 17:4-7
Peter was excited to see what he was seeing and in his excitement he blurtered forth, assuming that what he saw was going to stay perhaps. He makes me smile because I see me. So many times I have run on with a thought assuming something that has happened was going to stay and meant something other that what it did, right then.

Learning to read the mind of the Lord takes practice and a cool spirit. The only time I come close is when I wait and am still, then I can catch what is really happening.
I sense a lot of things in the spirit and people I know well have a signature in the spirit. I can tell when they are praying or in need and I can lift them up. I sense a love towards them and so I know the Lord is thinking of them. It took quite a while for me to discern what I actually had to do. Initially I thought they were thinking of me and I thought ‘That’s nice’, but God had to teach me the more.

The ways of the Spirit are so far removed from our natural thinking, it amazes me how much the Lord loves.
Jesus did not rebuke Peter, neither did the Father. As we understand the nature of love we understand the grace that is there, it is deep, wide, high and very, very, full of love. Jesus came and touched the disciples who were in fear and said. “Get Up, don’t be afraid.”

Getting up and standing is a place of acceptance. We are accepted and loved by the Father. He might be God and awesome in power but He loves and accepts us. Awesome!
