The Wicked

But if the wicked servant says to himself, 'my master is delayed, ' and begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when does not expect him and at a hour he does not know and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 24:48-51

Jesus is speaking to servants here who have a relationship with the master, in other words believers.

Do you know 'believers' who beat and abuse others? I have know of christian paedophiles, fathers who sexually abuse their daughters and think it is justified.

Have you been abused? I have. How did it make you feel about Christianity? Let me guess! None too impressed. Did it make you reject Christ?

I have a sister who has rejected Christ, probably because of our up bringing. We had a none too nice father who was very religious.

Fortunately I found Christ at 19 and fell in love with the saviour of my soul but I still reject religiosity.

I have a daughter who struggles with church because of the church she knew.

In all our pain we have to press in to Him for His truth. What is He saying? What is it all supposed to look like? More so, how can our pain lead us to the truth we are supposed to find and live in.

I have discovered that rejection by others can be like the little flippers in an old arcade game that are used to flip the little balls around the play area. I have put my God in charge of my life so when I am cast off or rejected, like the apostle Paul, I look to the one who is in charge of my direction.

Yesterday I had one such day. I was cast off and rejected but looked ahead to Christ and knew it was okay. I had done what I went to do and now it was time to move on.

My son drove me to Sydney from Brisbane (12 hour drive) and we have had a good time listening to uplifting teaching and worship, we have shared precious time together. I am blessed!

Admittedly rejection is a whole lot different to being abused as a  child and yes if that has happened to you your pain will be huge but our God can and will heal you if you allow Him.

Our God is the avenger, let Him do His stuff He is so much better at it then we, don't waste precious emotion on the wicked, use it to enjoy the good. Amen!
