Life Real Life

Then Jesus said, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35

What a promise? If we, genuinely come to Christ we will not go away hungry. In another place Jesus said, "it you seek Me you will find me".

This passage indicates hunger. We all know what it is like to be hungry for food but we often fail to properly diagnose spiritual hunger. What does that look like? It is like a deep ache for life, being loved, belonging, a huge emptiness inside, a hole in the centre of our being.

We can try and fill this hole with sexual pursuits, career pursuits, stuff. However only one thing satisfies, and that is Christ.

I searched for 15 years and when I found my ' pearl of great price' I gave all that I had, and ever will have for it. Finding Christ has been worth more than gold or diamonds to me. Knowing Him is better than the air I breathe, and we all know how much we need that.

In the passage above we hear Jesus say, ' he who believes will never be thirsty'. He thirsted for me, He paid the price for the water that never runs dry, spiritual life.

This life is not all there is. Eternity is written in our souls and nothing can take that away. I can choose, in foolishness, to say I know best and deny eternity, but what if I am wrong and the bible is right? Then forever and ever and ever I suffer lost from the answer. Eternity is a long, long, long, long time.

Do not be wise in your own eyes! Do not be fooled into believing that this is all there is, there is so much more, life, real life. Today choose life and live. Amen!
