Living Water

On the last day and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this He meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. John 7:37-39

We have just experienced Easter. For those who believe in more than just bunnies delivering eggs this is a significant time. It represents the fact that Jesus did in fact pay the price for our sins by dying on the cross but then God raised Him from the dead, triumphantly, so that we who believe do not place our faith in a dead prophet but a risen Lord.

What does it mean? It means there is power to change, power to overcome, power to walk as sons and daughters of the living God.

In the above scripture Jesus talked about living water, which represented the work of the Holy Spirit in the believers life.

When I invited Christ into my life, the river began to flow. As I fellowship Him it deepens, bringing healing to the nations. (Ezekiel 47)

If I inhibit Christ and refuse to walk in His ways then I live for myself and forget the lost, I fail to care for my spiritual life because self is only interested in self-pleasing and selfish pleasure.

My prayer is that we, His people, keep our eyes where they are meant to be, on Him. Then we will walk correctly and fulfill our destiny.

The sacrifice is full of power. Reach out to it, today, choose life. Amen!
