Branches

I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in Him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without Me. If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown aside like a branch and he withers. They gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you remain in Me and My words remain in You, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be my disciples. John 15:5-8

Nowhere else do you see, in all of nature, branches disconnecting themselves from trees and vines to run off and think they can do it all, by themselves.

Yet in the Kingdom of God we need encouragement to stay put. This 'choice' produces a self-reliance in us that we constantly have to battle.

Jesus puts it plainly, stay put, stay connected to Me, otherwise you will not succeed.

Our enemy, the deceiver, who has been at it since the world began, and beyond, comes alone with His lies. Just as he tempted Eve with; 'why the day you eat of the fruit you will be just like god knowing good from evil.'

Eve believed the liar and ate the fruit then sold the lie to her husband and he swallowed the lie.

'if anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown aside like a branch and he withers.' Do you know witherers? Are you one? Repent and get connected again!

Witherers get collected and thrown into the fire. Nasty place! Have you ever been burned? I have and it was only slight when compared to some, it hurt, a lot.

I wonder who 'they' are? The gatherers? Angels? Demons?

However, if I remain in Him I can ask whatever I want and it will be done. I better 'want' correctly because my prayers will be answered.

Today let us go to 'the House' and lay ourselves open before God and ask Him for our wants instead of running off to make it happen ourselves. Amen!
