After saying these things Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, "truly, truly one of you will betray Me".the disciples looked at one another uncertain of whom He spoke. John 13:21,22
Isn't it interesting that the disciples did not think of Judas? Did his attitude not stand out? Did they not sense his offended heart?
Have you been around someone with an offended heart? How do they behave?
I find that they usually guard their offense, protect it, cover it up and that it only manifests itself in an unguarded moment. Usually alcohol induced. Under the influence of alcohol most things hidden emerge.
Probably why not a good idea to drink. Better it comes out as repentance or as a decision to clear the air between one another.
Alcohol makes much of a wrong and the one wronged is often not clear headed enough to grasp truth.
My dad had a habit of doing this, which made family gatherings difficult until I was able to address it with him.
Offense is a nasty beast which clutches to a hurt individual and sucks the life out of them.
If you struggle with this confess your offense, be truthful or like Judas you may do something you will regret.
In Judas' case he betrayed Jesus for money and when it was too late tried to repent and ended up hanging himself.
Is this the end you want? No? Then humble yourself and fix it soon!
