Peace

"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful." John 14:27

What does His peace look like? We know Jesus said there is an absence of fear and a troubled heart but does that mean there is also an absence of trouble?

I don't think so! Jesus was called the 'Prince of Peace'. Yet He was constantly followed by a nit picking bunch of Pharisees who wanted to kill Him. Therefore I think He has authority to say what He said about not being fearful, don't you?

So where do we find this peace? I suggest in the face of the storm. He is right there, waiting for us to turn to Him and hide in Him. The trick is disciplining our eyes to only see Him and know the storm is there but not focus on it, pray through it, trust through it, stay steadfast in Him.

Jesus had to do this, so why do we, His followers try to avoid it when in following Him we walk the same path?

The presence of trouble signifies we are alive. Amen!
