Spirit of Truth

"If you love Me enough you will keep My commands. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counsellor to be with you forever. He is the Spirit of truth. John 14:15,16

I have to return here as it strikes me that we often want to know what truth is and if we are Christians we have it right there, if we are obey Christ's commands.

The Holy spirit does not hand around when we don't obey. He is easily turned away. He does not like a hard heart, an unrepentant attitude or a petulant attitude.

This morning I have had a confrontation with my brother because I washed up a fry pan. He does not like the fact that I have tried to change him. My reaction was to hit him over the head with the pan but I have come aside to pray and seek the Lord.

What is truth? The Holy Spirit is only going to talk to me about my behaviour and I have to leave my brother to Him.

I am living with my brother for 6 months while I wait for my own house to be available. I have to discover a way of co-habiting with a bachelor who is set in his ways yet cope with my own sensibilities. Some challenge!

Lord give me the grace to not rob my brother of his authority, show me how you would have me behave? Amen!
