Walking in Truth

Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in Him.
But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. John 2:3-5

Here is my litmus test. If I truly keeping His word then I am coming to know Him more and more, I understand His love, bask in it, in fact bathe in it.
He no longer tells me what to do and my greatest concern is that I choose well.

This month is generally giving month for building funds in churches. I knew it was coming and was prayerfully considering what I should give.
I never know exactly what I should give until a moment in time and then I know. On Sunday I put in an offering still not knowing, waiting. That afternoon I happened to check my emails. I was to receive above and beyond what I expected in commissions. This enable me to add a 0 to the figure and also to pay off an outstanding pledge.

Before I buy my own house I want to pay off what I had vowed, in other words fulfill my vow.
Yesterday, while traveling to work I knew I wanted to contribute monthly to the building fund.

My faith is having a great time and it blesses me.
What had this got to do with walking in truth? A lot! Grown ups are supposed to walk in truth. In Christ I am a grown up, I have known Him for almost 40 years. Awesome! Now I need to lead by example. Amen!

I have been freely given all that my God has, starting with His Son, I am therefore required to freely give in return, this is the truth that I was born into, in Christ.
