Lordship

It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three, because the sun's light failed. The curtain of the sanctuary was split down the middle. And Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into Your hands I entrust My spirit." saying this He breathed His last. Luke 23;44-46

Other gospels add 'It is finished!' Jesus endured to the end and achieved what He had been sent to do. He became the perfect sacrifice for all mankind, past, present and future.

How grateful am I! I am not condemned to continue in my own strength, constantly failing to meet the mark. I am redeemed and give free access to my Heavenly Father.

All that I need to do is trust and obey. Trust Jesus that all was finished at the cross and obey in the walk He has for me. In other words giving up lordship of my life.

If I retain lordship then I retain accountability to meet the just requirements of the law. As I am not effective in either I would rather submit to the Lordship of Christ.

Us earthly creatures think that Lordship is being ruler by a harsh dictator. Far from the truth. He leads my into freedom and truth. Christ has no desire to crush or bruise. While He lived on earth He set captives free and showed no need to rule, if fact the very thing the Jews wanted, a divine ruler, He shunned.

So what does Lordship look like? Making Him First in all things, listening to the word and allowing it to shape and mould, yielding to a loving hand. Amen!
