Beloved of God

When all the people were baptised, Jesus also was baptised. As He was praying, heaven opened, and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in a physical appearance like a dove. And a voice came from heaven:
"You are My beloved Son, I take delight in You." Luke 3:21,22

Throughout scripture we find people who The Lord took delight in but none as much as His Son, Jesus. Earlier in the gospel Luke mentions how Jesus grew up in wisdom and stature, in favour with God and with people. Luke 2:52

Jesus loved the Father and took delight in the scripture, He practised spending time alone in prayer and said He only did what He saw the Father do, this is intimacy at it's best.

He would rise early and go out to be with God, He would spend all night in prayer at times. If He, the Son of God, needed to worship and be alone with the Father so do I.

We see Jesus have conflict with the Pharisees and the Saducees and to handle this He would need to be strong in the Spirit and not run the risk of fleshly battles. I am facing a time of conflict and all that is set against me says, "No!" Much like a spoilt, rebellious child. I am learning about weapons I did not know I had. Fasting, prayer, giving, worship, the word of God, praise. Knowing when and which is the challenge. I am learning my battle is in the heavenlies not on earth. 'Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says The Lord.'(Zechariah 4:6) if we read further on in the same passage: 'what are you, great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain. And he will bring out of the capstone accompanied by shouts of: 'Grace, grace to it!' (V 7)

Amen! As a Christian warrior I must do battle in the Spirit, not the flesh! Grace is there for me. Amen!
