Grace Toward Others
For this is our confidence: the testimony of our conscience is that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you, with God-given sincerity and purity, not by fleshly wisdom but by God's grace. 2 Corinthians 1:12
Do you have a clear conscience about all you do? I know I don't when it comes to being frustrated by people who let me down. My problem is me and my ability to manage people, not necessarily always others.
I have been learning something lately and the learning and not knowing is more frustrating, that 'what I do not know' factor. I know I must ask God for His wisdom and I do, so where is the problem? Me! For some reason I am having to receive wisdom through a hose, I am the one going through the hose.
If I realise the problem is mine then I can try and not mistreat those who are the instigator of my frustration. I keep hearing Nicky Gumbke saying: "be Kind!" In all I do, correction and interaction I must be kind. I have clients who are so run ragged by their own world they do not attend to necessary paperwork, tests etc. I could get frustrated with them but what is the answer? I have to enable them to do what they must do rather than scold them for not doing it. I have staff who make mistakes, but then so do I. It is not the mistakes that are the issue but the person inside. Can I bring this person to a better place? Will they allow me? Will I allow me? I know there will be times when I must accept some will never allow me to help, but I have to be sure it is their choice and not mine.
People management is definitely a skill and the learning of it is important. Jesus never mistreated, yes He scolded at times but generally He scolded those who should know better, the Pharisees and Scribes.
Have mercy on me Lord, I ask for grace! Amen!
