Hatred Destroys
Now at midnight The Lord struck every firstborn male in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharoah who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the prisoner who was in the dungeon, and every firstborn of the livestock.
During the night Pharoah got up, he along with all his officials and all the Egyptians, and there was a loud wailing throughout Egypt because there wasn't a house without someone dead. He summoned Moses and Aaron during the night and said, "Get up, leave my people, both you and the Israelites, and go worship Yahweh as you have asked. Take even your flocks and herds as you asked and leave, and also bless me." Exodus 12:29-32
Pharoah so typifies his lord, Satan. Satan is hell bent on destruction, so much so he sacrifices his own. Pharoah, in hardening his heart, allowed his own son to be sacrificed and those of all his loyal followers to the cause of hatred and destruction of another.
Satan's nature has not changed in all time. When he possesses a man or a group they are blind in their devotion and willingly destroy for the cause. What was Pharoah's cause? A hard heart refusing to acknowledge the living God, a desire to prove his own infallibility? In this he failed and expected his people to blindly follow to their own destruction.
Hatred has no reason, no sense. I hear many many people spruik about how they hate a leader because in their foolishness they believe a lie. I find this mindset dangerous and unreasonable to the max. This type of person is possessed with their hatred and blind to truth. Only a divine miracle can set them free. Yet God is good and we know of people eg Newton who wrote Amazing Grace. He hated Africans and was hell bent on enslaving them when God intervened.
Jesus was hated for the freedom He represented yet those who met that freedom and let go their hatred were forever changed, as was Paul the apostle.
A God encounter changes heart and minds and sets captives free. Only Jesus can save and only He can free from bondage, ask him in today. Amen!
