Holy Behaviour
Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu each took his own firepan, put fire in it, placed incense on it, and presented unauthorised fire before The Lord, which He had not commanded them to do. Then fire came from The Lord and burned them up. So Moses said to Aaron , "this is what The Lord meant when He said: "I will show My holiness to those who are near Me, and I will reveal My glory before all the people."
But Aaron remained silent. Leviticus 10:1-3
What a way to learn that God was serious about holiness in His sanctuary!
Aaron was learning a serious lesson here. This was the man who made the golden calf for the people saying: "they demanded it. " man's ways are not acceptable to God,
Holiness demands we follow His ways. God's priests were close to His presence and therefore under the strictest, and most exact behaviour.
Now that we are in Christ, we are not struck down for our sin: hidden or obvious, as the perfect sacrifice has been made. However, to see God, we must be pure in heart or we will be on the perimeters of an relationship with The Lord, we will fall prey to knowing about Him but not knowing Him.
