Offence or Offering Praise

He went away from there to his hometown, and his disciples followed him. And on the Sanbath he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished, saying, " Where did this man get these things? What is the wisdom given to him, how are such mighty works done by his hand? Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary, brother of James, Jose, Judas and Simon, and are not his sisters here with us? And they took offense at him. Mark  6:1-3

Jesus must have lived a very ordinary life up until he came into his ministry. These people feel had, deceived, cheated and this was in the way of their faith.

Offense robs us of faith, grace and all the good God has to give us. Keep away from it and ask for grace to rise above it.

It is sad that the townsfolk could not rejoice that the Messiah had lived among them for 30 years.

We can be offended when someone we know are elevated above us and we are left.

I remember during the past two months of my recovery from my accident, my junior planner out earned me for the first time. Momentarily it hit me in the face and I chose to rejoice. This is what I had worked for, to release those I was training for greatness. He is now off and running and his own man, I rejoice for him, I rejoice that my faith proved true.

Why am I here? Am I not here to make room for others? Am I not called to disciple and train others?

The township failed to recognise their roles in raising their young, we must remember and release them. Amen!
