Go and Set Free
Then He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accomplish those who believe: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak new languages; they will pick up snakes; if they should drink anything deadly, it will not harm them, they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well." Mark 16:15-18
Those who go see these signs and wonders, those who set up camp and build denominations see them less, probably because they don't see many demons, snakes and no one is giving them poison to drink. However there are still a lot of sick people in church. Why is that? Perhaps we have come to see sickness as the norm and doctors as the answer? I know that the times I could not get to a doctor, either because I was in a place where I did not trust the medical field or I could not afford to go, I pressed into God for healing and received it.
On the weekend one of my sisters put up a post on Facebook that said: healing does not mean that the damage never existed but that the damage never controls us. I wrote that: it is important to receive emotional healing or you will never be totally healed, not completely.
I know that as my emotions about the past are healed sickness has less hold on me, there are no motels for it to set up rest in. Sickness cohabits with wrong attitude, unforgiveness, offence, hatred, anger, bitterness etc. Healing cohabits with a free spirit.
As Christians we must deal with all disappointment, frustration, hurt and find Jesus as the answer and trust Him for the outcome. A we trust Him we are set free. I think we put up with too much and need to be set free of the much. Amen!
