Be Serious in Prayer, Love for the Saints and Service

Now the end of all things is near; therefore, be serious and disciplined for prayer. Above all maintain an intense love for each other, since love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining. Based on the gift each one has received, use it to serve others, as good managers of the varied grace of God. If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God's words; if anyone serves, it should be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To Him be glory and the power forever and ever. Amen! 1 Peter 4:7-11

The end of all things is now nearer than Peter imagined, yet still it might tarry. For some death will take them home. Death here is merely stepping into the transporter into eternity, how exciting!

Therefore, be serious and disciplined in prayer. I do pray but I must admit I have not been so disciplined to pray for those in my world, daily. Yet after hearing a message on Sunday from Philippians 2, I am more so.

Since I have done this, a whole two days, (chuckle), things are different in other areas of my life, which is good.

Lately I have put in place a determination to stick with the programme: whether exercising, praying, attending weekly Rotary meetings, working a certain way.  I am deciding again and again to be consistent. Since doing so I realised how emotional my decisions have been. Now I am picking up the guy 'box habit,' (everything lives in a box and is dealt with separately).

Above all maintain an intense love for each other, hey and we're not even married. How funny modern societies leave intense love for passionate romances, yet Peter is telling us to love each other passionately. If I love you passionately I will not judge and condemn you, I will pray for you, uphold you and not leave and walk away from you. And why? For love covers a multitude of sins! How cool is that!

I can give you room to be you and not want to beat you up, verbally, for lack of attaining my targets. I will actually allow you to be you and trust God for all I need. Amen!

Next, I am to use the gifts given to me for your benefit. How good is that? All I do I must do in the strength God gives me. Amen!

Be blessed!
