The King's Favour

The king asked, "Who is in the court?" Now Haman was just entering the outer court of the palace to ask the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows he had prepared for him,
The Kings attendants answered him, "Haman is there, standing in the court."
"Have him enter," the king commanded.
Haman entered, and the king asked him, "What should be done for the man the king wants to honour?"
Haman thought to himself, "Who is it the king would want to honour more than me?" Esther 6:4-6

Haman thought more highly of himself than he should have. The reply he gives to the king, in how to bless the man the king wants to honour, is one he wants for himself.

Unfortunately Haman's pride is about to bring him down. The honour he recommends is given to the man he hates and worse still he is humbled in having to be a part of it.

He is humbled to having to dress his enemy in the Kings robes and crown and lead him through the city crying this is the man the king honours.

Verse 12 tells us that Haman, overwhelmed, mourned off for his home with his head covered, whilst Mordecai returns to the king's gate, a place of honour.

Haman now hates Mordecai more but is about to suffer the consequences of his hatred. God is good and he is just. Trust Him! Amen!

I just end a U-Tube clip of a Michael Pitts message on: Problem or Promise. God looks at His promises to us, we must take our eyes off the problem and join the Lord in a his promise. Amen!
