Attributes of a God
For this is the kind of high priest we need: holy, innocent, undefined, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. He doesn't need to offer sacrifices every day, as high priests do-first for their own sins, then those of the people. He did this once for all when He offered Himself. For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak, but the promise of the oath, which came after the law, appoints a Son, who has been perfected forever.
Now the main point of what is being said is this: We have this kind of high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a minister of the sanctuary and the true tabernacle that was set up by the Lord and not man. Hebrews 7;26-8:2
Jesus filled the job description. Have you ever sat down and thought about the attributes you wanted in a god you would serve, really serve? The writer of Hebrews is doing just that here. I know many would want a genie that complied with their every wish, but then this would mean they themselves were God and not Him.
Why not today, think about what you want in your God. Would access to eternal life matter? Does the prospect of living forever appeal? Whether it does or not, that is precisely what you will do. However, the place you spend it depends on your choice of gods. If you choose to serve yourself or some other deity that takes your fancy then the reward for this service is eternal damnation, in isolation from God. God is holy and heaven cannot be polluted with demons or self-servers for then it would not be holy.
Helł was created for demons, not people. However, if demons can persuade you to serve them by serving yourself, they have a new member. In this instance you have bought a membership in hell, not heaven. Self-serving is allowing demons access to your heart and mind with their characters of lust, anger, rage, insults, hatred, indulgence etc. if you like is full of these, you have invisible guests who are using you like a battery.
Choose wisely!
