Richteous Through Faith Alone!
What should we say then? Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained righteousness- namely the righteousness that comes from faith. But Israel, pursuing the law for righteousness, has not achieved the righteousness of the law. Why is that? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone. as it is written:
'Look! I am putting a stone in Zion to stumble over, yet the one who believes on Him will not be put to shame. Romans 9:30-33
Why do so may Christians stumble and fall? Where is our faith? Is it in Christ or our own efforts? Do we really know Christ? Or is our experience half or less than what it should be? how can we settle for a pleasant looking place that is not Christ? We are seduced that is why.
We have been warned that in the last days Christians will settle for doctrines of demons. Why? Is ease so attractive? Is hard work so repugnant? Is Christ so unattractive?
As a catholic I know why I failed, I did not have Christ dwelling within, but I do now. I must walk in what I have been given. His grace and mercy is sufficient for me. Thank You Jesus! Amen!
