Resurrection From the Dead

Now, if Christ is proclaimed as raised  from the dead, how can some of you say, "There is no resurrection from the dead?" But if there is no resurrection from the dead, then Christ has not been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our proclamation is without foundation, and so is your faith. In addition we are found to be false witnesses about God, because we have testified about a God who raised up Christ- whom He did not raise up if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised then Christ has not been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. Therefore, those who have fallen asleep in Christ have also perished. If we have put our hope in Christ for this life only, we should be pitied more than anyone.
But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection also comes through a man. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 1Cor 15:12-22

The Corinthians were caught in their old nature that loved to debate and think things out logically. Resurrection from the dead is not logical it is supernatural. They had no God who would sacrifice His Son so that all might be raised into new life, because He had Himself been raised from the dead.

I cannot approach the gospel with a mindset of working things out. I tried that before I came to Christ. I respected the bible and new it was special but had no revelation, my eyes had not been opened to the truth of the gospel. I was caught in a life of works. I was raised to believe that I had to work things out. I did not understand grace. It is grace that caused the Father to send His only Son into a world gone wrong, just so He could have them in relationship with Him.

The power of the Father raised His Son from death to life, so that He could in turn lead us through the same door, to the Father. Jesus accomplished the work he was sent to do: pay the price of our freedom, He gave His life for us and in turn the Father returned His life to Him so that He, Christ could bring us through into the kingdom of God.

The Corinthians we being troubled with old mindsets. I cannot go back into works to satisfy some fleshly desire to be right in myself. I am righteous in Christ alone, His effort makes me clean. Only Christ can make me clean. I can rest in this knowledge and trust Him. The Corinthians needed to come back to faith in Christ. This is the starting point and the ending point, there is no other point. Amen!
