Family Behaviour

Brothers, if someone is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual should restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so you also won’t be tempted. Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone considers himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But each person should examine his own work, and then he will have a reason for boasting in himself alone, and not in respect to someone else. For each person will have to carry his own load. The one who is taught the message must share all his good things with the teacher. Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap, because the one who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith.

Our behaviour to those who are also Christians is important. Doing business with one another can be tricky, especially employing a brother can bring difficulties. We hope such a brother would operate in godly ways but this is not always the case. When wronged by a brother we must deal with them in a godly way or we are buying into their sin. There is the challenge!

I have one such difficulty. I took in a young brother and raised him in business, believed in Him and encouraged him when he did not believe in himself. However this young man has never shown he understood honour. Now that he is leaving and branching out on his own he has been ruthless and making me regret my efforts.

Whilst I am angry, ashamed and disappointed I still have responsibility to behave correctly. I must work towards a revelation of truth between us and not behave as the world does. I know I must do this young man a favour and gently but firmly speak truth into his life or he will be destroyed if he continues. There, in the halls of pain grace must be found! It is not about me. I must complete the task I was given rightly. Amen!
