Have I Come to Know Him?

This is how we are sure that we have come to know Him: by keeping His commands. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” yet doesn't keep His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly in him the love of God is perfected. This is how we know we are in Him: The one who says he remains in Him should walk just as He walked.

Do you ever find yourself in a day when you are tipped over and you see exactly what is within by your reaction. Well, yesterday was one of those days. I was unable to contact a department that had led me to believe they were willing and able to be contactable a week ago. I had tried over a week ago and the head man's email came back with, sorry I am on leave until.... please contact this person..... Or this person.... So after waiting a week I thought he would respond, no! After a week and one day, no and so I wrote an email to one of the 'others' on the list, no response. I called another on the list, busy and decided to wait another day. Well yesterday I called and got through but by now I was not very nice, in fact I hid a bitchy attitude thinly. Afterwards I felt so bad. It felt like heaven was having a meeting about my attitude. So, I called the number again, again I got through and apologised.

John tells us that we can be sure we have come to know Him, Jesus, when we keep his commands. I had not loved my annoying providers, in fact I thought they had a cheek in not taking me seriously. Why, customer service is about me! Right? I don't remember Jesus teaching us that as customers we were privileged in being nasty. In fact, He, God in the flesh forgave and was a servant to mankind. Jesus! Why do you have to be sooo nice?

This incident has served to show me where I must go deeper in Him and yeild my 'right'. He wants to see Himself in me. I am to be a light to the world, not a blow torch setting them on fire. By His grace alone am I saved. Amen!
