Holy and Loved
Therefore, God’s chosen ones, holy and loved, put on heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, accepting one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive. Above all, put on love — the perfect bond of unity.
Colossians 3:12-14 HCSB
First, as God's people we must accept we are holy and loved. Holy means set apart, lifted up for a special purpose. When invite Christ into our lives He fills us with His Holy Spirit and makes us holy. We may not feel holy, this does not mean we are not, all we are doing is sensing our flesh. We need to re-tune to our spirits where God dwells. If we live out of this well we perform differently.
A good example is petrol(for the Americans-gas). If we buy a new car, we need to read the manual and discover what type of petrol is required. If our old car ran on cheaper fuel with more impurities, we cannot assume our new car is the same. It might require a high grade, high performance fuel to run smoothly.
The old fuel for an unregenerate life is media, lots of it; for the Christian life it is quiet time with the owner and His manual, learning how the new life works.
Remember, we are not just worldly people going to church. We are chosen by God to live for Him. As we embrace holiness we change. Our behaviour changes and we treat others differently. Amen!
