acceptable sacrifices

Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1‭-‬2 HCSB

Today is Sunday. Many in Australia see this as a time to sleep in, walk the dog, go for a coffee or breakfast out. Whilst these all represent a mini holiday, I choose to go to church. Yesterday was another day I could have had a mini holiday but I chose to serve my family, and turn up at the obscene hour of 8am to watch soccer. The night before when many were buying pizza, and settling in for a movie I was again at soccer in the freezing cold. Not because I am good, but my Jesus is good and wants to love this family who do not know Jesus personally, yet.

Last night I discovered an arrogant young man who is visiting my city, he posted in our local online rag asking where spiritual things were happening in Tamworth. I jumped right in and invited him to church, claiming my church to be a spiritual place to be. I have warned my pastors and have put in prayer instead of movies. Who needs entertainment from the world when the Lord wants to set up a showdown with spiritual forces of wickedness. This young man claims to be a spiritualist.

My bible is full of the power of God. It is full of life. I will feast on it, and reject the entertainment. I want action, godly action.  Amen!
