adopted

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
2 Peter 1:3 NLT

A child may grow up in extreme poverty, wear rags and only eat once a day. Yet, if he is seen and adopted into a western family of wealth he suddenly has all the benefits of the other children in that house. Whilst it mystifies him, he, over time, will grow used to the change. Moses did, and yet he did not forget his roots. This came from living in the same place. I wonder if it would have been different if he was removed from the vicinity?

Whilst we may never forget where we came from, we must get to know the one who has purchased our freedom. He is holy, pure, righteous, consistent and loving. He offers us access to his divine attributes by giving us His Holy Spirit to abide in us. This Holy Spirit is willing to train us in a life of godliness. We have our own personal, abiding coach, who also loves us. What a life!

Thank You Father for giving us Your Son and Your Holy Spirit. Thank You that You have given us all we need to live with You and not in selfish, destructive ways. Amen!
