living in the light

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 1:7 NLT

I have friends who I sense a hidden agenda in. This means there are things that they will not bring into the light. This makes me cautious, and know I cannot trust them because when the circumstances are right their agenda will arise, usually at the wrong time. 

Scripture tells us: Jesus knew the hearts of man and therefore did not trust Himself to them (John 2:24). Jesus knew Judas was the betrayer, and yet gave him every opportunity to repent. Jesus knew all the disciples would run away, even that Peter would deny Him three times. However, He knew that all but Judas would repent and turn back.

Just because we can see the hearts of people does not mean we walk alone, we just be careful. If we find a faithful friend then we have found a rare jewel. This one we need to treasure. Amen!
