Jesus is a prime example of the fruitfulness of God’s word. Jesus said He only did what He saw His Father do, this would include all His words spoken. Jesus said of His words: my words are spirit and they are life. (In 6:63).
Imagine a church who knew the power of every spoken word. We are told it, but do not realise it. Life and death are in the power of the tongue ( Proverbs 18:21). We must be careful to avoid gossip, but frame our words to bring life.
Pray expecting spirit and life to come out of our mouths. Last night I was awake around midnight, and had a sense that as I sang in the Spirit I was lifting up darkness off of people and situations, and allowing God’s Spirit to touch them all. I am wanting to see change, and I believe I am an instrument of change.
Pray and speak aware! Amen!
