Waiting waiting waiting

“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!” Psalms‬ ‭42‬:‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When waiting on God for clear direction we can become despondent. My friend who is going ahead of me to Nepal is full of excitement and constantly receiving confirmations. It is his time to go. I don’t have the same, and his constant excited rambling can be overpowering, but I know I must walk slower, and wait to complete my current task before running on. Managing the emotions created by this dilemma can be challenging. However, I sense a bigger picture for me to concentrate on.

When your own space is quiet, and another is noisy, what do you do? Remain faithful and value the quiet in your own field, the noise will soon arrive.

Yesterday I watched an episode of The Chosen in which Jesus returns home to celebrate New Year with His family and finds only His mother to welcome Him. His brothers avoid Him. Lazarus and his sisters show up and support Jesus. Jesus is asked to read the Torah at the synagogue. He reads where the scripture says:
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. Isaiah‬ ‭61‬:‭1

The mood in the synagogue was outrage that Jesus dared to call Himself Messiah. They took Him to the top of the hill to throw Him down but He turned to them and said. ‘This is not going to happen today!’ And walked back through them, to their amazement.

The awareness between Jesus and His mother of what He was now embarking on weighed heavily upon Mary His mother and Jesus also. We see Him as a child with His father Joseph learning the exact same scriptures.

Jesus had to walk towards the cross, in faith. We can walk towards our destiny in faith. Amen!
