steps

We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9 NLT

There are many ways to arrive at a destination: the scenic route or the shortcut. God us rarely into short cuts. The scenic way can be tortuous, but the views are the best.

In 2016 I undertook a trek to the Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal. It was hard and I almost died due to altitude sickness. I later found out that some people skip the task and fly there. What cheats! They also run the risk of altitude sickness and miss the lovely people in the villages along the way and the fellow travellers who are all on the same journey.

I am determined to take the scenic route, always, unless there is a very good reason not to.

In life God is interested in the journey and what it does in our lives. The steps are valuable to Him. They are precious memories to us also.

Remember, in God there are no short cuts! Amen!
