“I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.”Psalms 40:1-2 NLT
Despair at what has not happened can take out many. I have a friend who has been in despair for over 15 years and only recently found hope again. Despair is a horrible place. It can lead to suicide or a life away from God’s purposes.
However, the Psalmist, probably David, waited patiently for the Lord to help Him out of the pit. Waiting patiently was something many of the saints of old did. The Lord heard their cry and came to their aid. David, Joesph and Abraham all waited on God.
Waiting patiently with a faith in God brings us through. I have been waiting on God for almost 20 years. It trust God for His victory. Amen!
