Giving up our own way csn mean a lot of things: my way of treating people, my way of resolving conflict, my way of indulging my appetites, my way of living that does not include others.
Taking up my cross daily means: not railing at God or others because I do not get my own way, loving those who hurt me, letting go, continually, of offence.
Eternal life, living forever in eternity is my reward.
